1. Yesterday was my first day as a stay-at-home-mom (not by choice. I just haven’t found a job). It was good and bad. Bad because I’m not used to it and am not in a routine yet. Good because, well, I’m home with my kids! I love that.
2. I’m not sure if it is just a Southern thing, or if it’s more of a traditional wife thing, but I’m finding that not everyone feels the need to “wait on” their husbands. I feel the need to seve my husband if I cook. I also feel like I want to get up with him in the mornings and fix his lunch for the day.
3. Our new Black & Decker coffeemaker is a piece of junk. This morning, for the second time in the short couple of months we’ve had it, it brewed coffee all over the countertops. Never had this problem with the Mr. Coffee we had.
4. I am so looking forward to a night out with my husband Friday. We are meeting up with my close friend at a bar where her boyfriend’s band is playing. I love an excuse to get dressed up and have a few drinks!
5. I get so tired of hearing Nick whine about Harper “bothering” him. Then I remember complaining about my own little brother wanting to be in my face all the time when we were little.
6. I have become a huge grouch. I’m overtired and not getting enough time alone. This results in me snapping at everyone for everything. Big apologies to my sweet family. I’m going to pour some coffee and take a deep breath now.
7. My house is a mess and I’ve reached the conclusion that it will stay that way until my kids have their own homes.
8. I have had to create a “Kid Safe” playlist on iTunes for when I am hanging around the house with my kids. Yesterday started out with Nick singing along to Pink, “I don’t give a f*ck!”
9. It is baseball season! There aren’t many things that make me happier than the Red Sox. Big YAY for starting the season out right by coming back from behind to defeat the Yankees 9-7!
10. Baby tattoos for ears. Seriously?!
