Yesterday, I introduced you to my latest venture, OpenSky. I am a new seller and am still working out how I want to sell and what kind of things will work best for me. I have had friends ask a few questions about what exactly OpenSky is, how much money can be made with them, and what’s so great about it anyway. I’ll do my best to address those issues in this post.
OpenSky is, put simply, a buying and selling platform. Suppliers have products that need to be sold, sellers need to make money, and buyers need to, well, buy! It works for everyone. The supplier is connected to a network of sellers, who pick and choose what they want to sell from participating suppliers. The sellers share the products they love and believe in with their audience, through Facebook, Twitter, or blogging. The customers have the advantage of buying from someone they trust. According to OpenSky, A recent Facebook study indicated that people are 400% more likely to buy something that’s been recommended by a person they know. I believe it!
As far as how much money I will make, that’s very much up to me and how much time and effort I put into it. It’s that way with any business. A person who sells Avon can’t just sign up and throw a few brochures on countertops. It takes actual selling and marketing. Same with OpenSky. You can sell casually, just talking about a product when you run across one you like, or you can have a full-on e-commerce site. Mine will probably fall somewhere in the middle before it’s all over. I have a whole lot of projects going on at once, but I need some extra cash! So this just fits for me.
You may be wondering exactly where the money comes from. When someone buys something I’m selling, I get 50% of the profits. Not bad! When I select items to feature, I’m shown the selling price as well as how much I will make from that sale. I love that it’s so straightforward!
The best thing about selling with OpenSky is that they handle inventory, sourcing products, payment processing, fulfillment, and customer service. Speaking of customer service, they have an amazing return policy. Customers have 365 days to return their products for any reason at all! Can’t beat that!

Now, if you aren’t sure about how to buy from me, let me clarify! When I post about something I’m selling, you can buy directly from that post!! Just click the “Add to Cart” button underneath the item’s photo. In the right column of the blog, there is a “Shop Hepburn” header. Under that is “Click here to shop with me!”, which takes you to my shop, so you can see all the items currently for sale. Under that is “Shopping Cart,” where you can see your cart. For easier shopping, I’ve added a “Shop Hepburn” tab at the top of the page. You will find the newest items for sale there. It’s still under construction, so bear with me!
If you have any other questions, you can email me as always! On the top right of the page, there is a “contact Rhonda” tab.

Such a phenomenal summary of the almighty OpenSky. I’m getting my ducks in a row too before I start the mid-level seller’s aggression.
