My other blog

Ask DaddyGeek

Hi. My name is Dustin, and I am a DaddyGeek.  I’m also Rhonda Gail’s husband, which is probably the only reason she’s letting me do this.

Rhonda and I have talked about having me write a guest post for her blog, but we’ve had trouble deciding on a subject.  She insists that people find my role in the family fascinating.  Apparently, it’s unusual for a guy to respond to getting laid off by spending the first year of his son’s life as a SAHD because jobs paying enough to make financial sense to give up Unemployment benefits plus pay gas and childcare were rare.  Especially in the South.

It’s also viewed as unique and “maybe a little weird”  to be so involved in raising my kids.

The thing is, that’s a fairly broad subject. What would you, Rhonda’s readers, want to know or actually find interesting about that rare creature known as the involved father?

Neither of us had a very good answer, so we decided to ask you.

Leave a comment.  Ask me anything you want.  I’ll come back and answer questions in a later post.  If we get enough questions, I’ll do multiple posts.

No question is off-limits and I promise an honest answer, though I’ll probably try to inject some humor if I start feeling uncomfortable.  Don’t judge me, it’s a defense mechanism.
