December kicked off over the weekend and we really got off to a great start! It was a weekend I was really needing – full of family time and cheer.
Friday evening after work, I continued a week-long search for a holiday party ensemble. I finally found a winner – and it was totally NOT what I thought I wanted! I will reveal that outfit (and all the rejects) after the party.
Saturday morning, we got out early to take the boys to Sugarplum Saturday downtown. There were lots of games, activities, and music (mostly free!) – and a parade! The parade was so wimpy compared to what I’ve come to expect (thanks to my tiny hometown’s big ol parade!). The boys enjoyed it though. They even caught four (4!) pieces of candy, a cup, and a handful of beads.
Since the boys had so much fun at that puny parade, I knew they would flip out over my hometown’s parade – so I ran errands while the boys rested, then we loaded up and headed to Lucedale. They had an AMAZING time at the parade and we filled a reusable grocery bag to the brim – they even got three huge bouncing balls! The parade was an hour-long and though I got tired of pulling the kids back from the street, it was all worth it. Plus I got to wear my new $5 shoes (still high off that deal!), which is always a good thing.
Sunday morning, Dustin let me sleep in and when I got up, we walked with the boys to the playground. That is always so much fun. Honestly, I wore myself out there, running, climbing, sliding, and swinging. The school is right behind a shopping center, so we walked over there after playing and did some window shopping.
I spent the rest of the afternoon crafting and decorating. The boys wrote Santa letters, then our old friend Claude the elf made his return after the boys were in bed!
Did you throw yourself into the holidays this weekend? My birthday is this month too! Anybody else?

That looks like so much fun! Y’all are the cutest little bunch ever…and where did you get those $5 shoes?! Love them.

It was a great time!
The shoes are from Shoe Department! They are having a red dot sale where certain styles were 50% off the lowest sale price! These shoes were originally $38!
