2. Your eyes are sweetness and light.

3. You’re a walking encyclopedia and dictionary.

4. Best. daddy. ever.

5. Our love story. I love the way our relationship started and how it has made it through so much.

6. “Sex Type Thing.” You know.

7. You let me shower first.

8. You scratch my back in the bed each night, never complaining.

9. You’re a great cook when I let you.

10. The way you work so hard to provide for our family doesn’t go unnoticed. It’s quite sexy.

11. Your view on the world and your willingness to hear out all viewpoints.

12. You always play DD to support my bad habits, even after years of dealing with the aftermath of my overindulging.

13. You’re impressed by my rookie graphic design skills.

14. Amazing hugs. Best ever.

15. The way you effortlessly snuggle Harper to sleep.

16. Your soft hands.

17. That you are big a Gleek as I am.

18. Your addiction to your phone.

19. You have opened your heart and mind to thinking more about Faith and what it means for you.

20. How you sometimes let me sleep till noon because you know I need it…even if you need it more.

21. How you truly are my partner in everything.

22. That you have fully integrated into my family and I can’t remember what it was like before you.

23. The way watching you be a father to our boys makes me want to have a million babies with you.

24. You do the poopy diapers!

25. You don’t hide your insecurities.

26. You let me have girls’ nights out without worry.

27. You want a college degree more than I do.

28. You are my patient and tireless Webmaster.

29. “Our” songs are sappy, but you chose them!

30. Even knowing my full history of engagements, you asked the all-important question (with my dream ring!).

31. You do not lose your shit when I shatter my pricey new phone, spill red wine all over the carpet, ask your opinion on hundreds of trivial things, or change my mind…. again.

I would love to understand what Google Friend Connect is supposed to do for me. This is actually pretty embarrassing, because I consider myself quite tech-savvy or at least hip to all the social media tools. Well, I’m wrong. Google Friend Connect is on every blog I read and I sometimes click “Follow” but I still don’t get understand the purpose. I see posts from others saying “Yay, I’m almost at 1000 followers!” And all I can think is, “but what about people who read your blog without clicking on ‘follow’? What about those who subscribe in Google Reader? What about those who bookmark you?” I guess I just don’t see how this is a good indicator of how many people are reading your blog.

What else is it supposed to do or tell you? I added it to my sidebar tonight, so please join up so maybe I can begin to “get” it. Also, if you have any insight or tips, please leave a comment!

Update: I was finally told by Allison at House of Hepworths this tidbit: “Google Friend Connect is just another way to read blogs. It’s a reader like Reader for Google. If you friend someone on Google Friend Connect you can use the reader function in blogger on your dashboard. I personally prefer to follow blogs using Google Reader, but this just gives people more options.” Thank you, Allison!

1. Harper said “bye” yesterday, complete with wave! The absolute best part of parenting is watching them learn and grow.

2. In high school and in my early college years, I refashioned clothes I no longer wanted and had my mom sew original designs. I loved being creative with clothes. Now, mostly out of financial need, I am into it again. I currently have a large stack of clothes to work on and I am so excited about it!

3. Nick went to Vacation Bible School last night for the first time. He absolutely loved it, as I knew he would.

4. We created a log-in on the computer for Nick. It is very restricted. He can’t surf most sites and he has no printing capabilities or any capabilities at all, really. We will gradually broaden his boundaries as he gets older. He is loving it and is learning so much. He plays on the Thomas and Friends website 90% of the time.

5. Last night, I had a Moment as a mom. At 10 pm on a typical night, there is a sink full of dishes that I don’t have energy to touch, toys all over the floor, and I’m emotionally and physically exhausted from dinner/bath/bedtime. Yesterday was different. At 9:45, I looked around and smiled. Dishes were done, cooked chicken chopped and placed in freezer for Wednesday’s dinner, and only feeling halfway wiped out. The kids had even gone to bed smiling and without a fight. I decided that for that day, I rocked as a mom.

6. We have finally made the decision to have one more child. I am definitely hoping for a girl, but will still be thrilled if it’s a boy (which it’s likely to be). We have already decided on a couple of girl names and have a list of boy names to decide on. However, we probably won’t even start trying until early next year. There are a couple of my cousins who are currently trying. I am so thrilled that this last child of ours will have cousins close in age, as I have grown up having.

7. This time of year is hell at my dad’s house. The pests come out in full force. I have battled a couple of cockroaches, smashed lots of spiders, and sprayed ants all day long. We live in the woods in a very old house, and every year at this time, we’re invaded. I’m a little ready for winter. Mostly, I’m just ready to move out of here.

8. This weekend is going to be amazing. Saturday night, I have a Girls Night with my friend Amber. We’ll also meet up for a bit with my friend Tyler, who I’ve not seen in YEARS. Sunday is my family reunion, which I look forward to every year. My family is fantastic. This entire week I’m going to be busy, getting an outfit together for Saturday, deciding what to make for the reunion, and getting caught up on housework so I don’t have to worry about it all weekend.

9. The last few days, I’ve been trying out getting up earlier, theorizing that it would make me go to sleep earlier at night and I would get more sleep. Well, turns out that I am still not falling asleep till nearly 3 a.m. most nights, therefore getting less sleep.

10. At the beginning of this post, I announced that Harper is saying “bye.” Well, he just dropped his cup and said “uh-oh.” New words every day!

My old friend Brandy and I are very different. Sure, we have some things in common. We both are outnumbered by boys in our household, are traditional but rebellious, and are really good, sweet people. That being said, she is an Atheist and I am a Christian. She doesn’t let her kids believe in the tooth fairy, Easter bunny, or Santa. My kids are surrounded by the fantasies. Our parenting styles are pretty different. Anyway, I still love her and love her blog. I think it’s important to realize that our way isn’t the only right way. The “right” way is whatever works for your family, and sometimes it takes reading different opinions from a caring, loving person to remind me of that.
